Frequently Asked Questions

Office Hours

Monday through Thursday, 8:00 – 5:30, are the times I prefer to see clients.  If your schedule doesn’t fit into these slots, give me a call.  We’ll likely be able to find another time.

Length of Session

Private-pay individuals meet for full 60 minutes.  Couples sessions last 90 minutes.  These times are slightly longer than child and insurance clients.

How many sessions will we meet?

Everyone’s needs are unique.  In general, I recommend 10 sessions at the same time for ten weeks.    You may need fewer sessions.  You may choose to continue longer.

In the beginning, therapy is more effective when we meet regularly each week.  I understand vacations, life's emergencies and changes make this difficult at times.   I will ask for, but certainly not require, this consistency in the start.

Rates

My fee is currently $95 per individual and $150 for couples.  If you are unable to afford these rates, I maintain a certain number of sessions each week for those unable to afford these rates.  Just ask.

Confidentiality

Under law, all of our sessions are confidential, and I am ethically bound to withhold discussing your identity or anything we discuss.  The only limit to confidentiality is if I learn of child/elder abuse or believe that imminent physical harm is likely to you or anyone else.  In our first session, we will discuss confidentiality and its limits more fully.

Insurance

Yes, I accept all common insurance - (except Medicare/Medicaid and Tri-Care).

Office Location

I have two office locations.  I see private-pay individuals and couples on the second floor of the Park Building 1911 North Main St., Suite 256, Durango.  By far, the easiest way to access the office is to park on 19th Street and walk up the stairs leading from the alleyway between Main and 2nd Avenue.  I'm the first office on the right.

I see child and insurance clients on the second floor of the Bank of Colorado building, Suite 205, 1199 Main Ave.  This office is within Peidatric Associates of the Durango - Drs. Pakhi Chaudhauri and Whitney Pack.  Convenient parking exists in the basement accessed off the railway alley.
